Medical Computational Simulation Laboratory (MCS LAB)

Risk Assessment Laboratory
Major Research Facilities:
  1. 4-channel Phased Array RF Driver (Advanced Surgical Systems Inc., Tucson, AZ)
  2. 1MHz MRI compatible Ultrasound Transducer
  3. Computer: Intel Core 2 CPU 6600@2.4GHz with 4GByte memory.
  4. Printer: EPSON EPL-6200L
  5. Terason 2000+ Ultrasound System
Research Interests:

The MCS Lab research interests lie at analytical solutions of heat transfer in living tissues in thermal therapies, numerical simulations of bio-heat transfer in thermal treatments, and applications of computational flied dynamics on medical analysis such as the airway flow resistance for patients either with vascular ring surgery or with airway stent implementations. The lab also works on computer simulations for thermal modeling of the radiofrequency tumor ablation, and high-intensity focused ultrasound thermal surgery. Currently, the aim of the MSC Lab is to develop the integration system of diagnostic medical imaging and therapy modalities.
